I Have STAGE IV NHL LARGE B CELL LYMPHOMA
A MyLymphomaTeam Member asked a question 💭

I just finished 5th R-CHOP (1 more to go) and 2nd inthratecal chemotherapy (1 more to go). My doctor said when I'm done I will have to go into the hospital for 3 days to get methotrexate. My last PET-Scan came back clean and my lumbar puncture came back negative. I know she is treating this aggressive but has anyone else had to go into the hospital for methotrexate? If so, tell me what that is like because I wish someone had told me what those lumbar punctures were before I started them.

Thanks that makes me feel a lot better. Hopefully I'll be done after the methotrexate.

I have you you have and I was in the hospital for all of it, but I know the one you are talking about they just need need to monitor your vitals while you are taking it. Doesn’t take a long time.

I went to the hospital for methotrexate while doing my chemo. I also had large B Cell Lymphoma. I did 3 rounds of R-CHOP and the other 3 rounds where RM-CHOP which I was hospitalized because the M was the methotrexate. Had to stay until the methotrexate level in system was >0.05. The methotrexate made me very nausea for the first 24-48 hours. Nausea meds helped. I was usually in for 6 days before the levels dropped. I hope this was helpful. I am now in remission since January.
