Do You Have An Autoimmune Disease Or Are You Immunocomprised In A Way That Makes Treatment Not Work As Well For You?
A MyLymphomaTeam Member asked a question đź’

I have lupus, an autoimmune disease, so Rituxan or other immunotherapy drugs, or chemotherapy would give me 5 to 30% chance of remission...So I don't think it's worth the horrible side effects...But what alternative therapies could work? My oncologist/hematolgist said doing nothing is the most dangerous option. I hope they find less TOXIC therapies!.. If you can relate to this, please reply to me... I'm trying to keep a good sense of humor and a positive attitude, but now I'm going through a… read more

Any Advice On How To Tell Close Friends & Family?
A MyLymphomaTeam Member asked a question đź’

I'm 45yrs old & was diagnosed with SMZL a couple weeks ago. My partner & I have an appointment with my Dr on 1/9 to discuss next steps, etc. We have decided to not tell our children (16yr old twins, 14 & 11) until after meeting with the doctor. I'm sure they will have a ton of questions I just don't have the answers to yet. Plus, I didn't want it to affect their holidays. We have also not told any family for the same reason. I have only told two of my best friends.

Any advice on how to share… read more

Anyone Else Having Family Problems
A MyLymphomaTeam Member asked a question đź’

I’ve got a question, I’ve got cancer, so much has changed with me. There are times I feel like someone else has taken over my body. I guess what I’m trying to say is that it’s hard having cancer and it’s not just me going through this. My whole life has changed, I can’t travel very far, it’s hard on me. It’s hard enough having cancer, I don’t even go outside anymore unless going to appointments, letting the dog out. My daughter keeps pushing me to come there and there is colorado. Lived in… read more

I'd Like To Know Your Experience On Your Drug Regimen For SLL
A MyLymphomaTeam Member asked a question đź’

My name is Laura. I have SLL and was diagnosed about 1 year ago. I am currently on active surveillance but my oncologists have noted they think (based on my current lab/film findings and symptoms) that I will need to start drug treatment in the next 3-6 months.

That said, I would love to hear from others about:
1. What drug treatment you choose for your SLL and why
2. How did you do (or currently are doing) on the treatment
3. What kind of side effects you have encountered

I am a nurse of 40… read more

Can You Share An Image, Photo, Video, Or Song That Helps You Connect To Your Feelings?
A MyLymphomaTeam Member asked a question đź’

Music, images, words or even smells - have always helped me connect to my feelings. It can be so powerful.

A picture/image that makes you smile, laugh or cry. One maybe that draws you in though you don't necessarily know why.

A favorite quote.

A song where the music or lyrics speak directly to you?

You can explain the feeling/connection or not, as you wish. The thing is that you share something meaningful to you.

Would You Change Providers?
A MyLymphomaTeam Member asked a question đź’

By providers I mean hospital system, affiliation, and oncologists.

-If during your cancer/chemo journey you were not successful with you results would you change providers if it meant redoing all your labs/tests and diagnosis? V.S. staying with the same provider where all your records are held.

Couples: In Which Ways Has Your Partner’s Diagnosis And/or Journey Affected Your Relationship?
A MyLymphomaTeam Member asked a question đź’

When illness was a hypothetical — a promise in a vow, or a far-away romanticism found in the mildness of “growing old together” in uncomplicated ways — I assumed that illness would cause the rest of the world to disappear. I assumed we would suddenly feel closer, more intimately connected, and that our troubles and everyday frustrations would melt away into the background of the burning dilemma we face together… of the thought of one of us being unwell, or the fear of loss.

But that’s not true… read more

Does Anyone Else Feel Agitated?
A MyLymphomaTeam Member asked a question đź’

I am not actively taking treatments right now but I just found a decent size lump on the inside of my left elbow. I am finding myself very agitated and little to no patience. That is totally opposite of my normal disposition. I am sooooo tired all the time. I don’t know what is normal because of my extremely stressful job or if this is part of the disease. I have follicular lymphoma.
