I had one for my lymphoma. Although its a very intense procedure i have been in remission now since 2012. The stem cell harvesting procedure can last 5 days but i was done in one. They use a modified heart lung machine to harvest the cells from your blood. I would do it again if needed.
Want to accept help, find this process so difficult
I've had autoglaus stem cell transplant. I also had R-chop, clinical drug trial and another chemo treatment. I was at stage four when diagnosed. I really believe the stem cell transplant saved my life. In remission for almost two years. Don't know how fast they are going to do it because I had to go through a bunch of tests first. Breathing tests, heart test and all dental work like cleaning, fillings, extractions and root canal have to be done before your cells are harvested. To avoid infections.
I went through the same process as your Mom. My oncologist did not suggest a stem cell transplant. However, I had non hodgekins lymphoma. I hope you get the info you need. Maybe some other research on your part would help.
