My team at MD Anderson has advised me that they expect to have the vaccine available for “high risk” persons such as myself in January. I’ve been in remission since June and have been checking my blood counts to keep track of my immune system. I do not know their position or intention for active patients not in remission and are undergoing treatment. I suggest discussing with your oncologist. Of note, I intentionally waited till I was through with chemo for a couple of months before getting the flu and shingles vaccine per my doctor’s recommendation.

I asked my doctor about the Covid vaccines. He said to get the Covid vaccine once it is available .I would have to wait 6 months after chemo for the shingles vaccine.

Per hand-me-down info..,
109 hospitals (with proper cold storage) received Covid vaccines. MDA received little 4,000 does. I believe employees are going to be first in line. My God will direct me to right time & place. Enjoy right now, don’t worry about tomorrow, God is already there. Prayers to all, my Lymphoma family🌻

This is a very good question,I too have been thinking about that.I want to get a shingles vaccine,I had shingles a few years ago and I was in a lot of pain for a long time.I'm still doing chemo and pray the shingles will not return especially during treatment.I will check with my doctor about both vaccines and if we can have them during chemo.
