Life After Chemo
A MyLymphomaTeam Member asked a question 💭

My husband is getting his 6th round of RCHOP chemo on Wednesday, 6/9/2021. I am wondering what happens after this. I know they will do a pet scan 8 weeks after last treatment. How long does it take before he gets his energy back and starts to feel better after treatment ends? Thank you.

I would say if he was receiving chemo every three weeks he should start feeling better three weeks after his last chemo session.

I had the high dose methotrexate (in-patient) It was prophylactic. I also had intrathecal methotrexate (3 lumbar punctures). I am in remission and feeling ok and glad that my oncologist was very aggressive. I had Stage IV Non-Hodgkins and just came back from having my port flushed and will not have to go back to the oncologist for 2 months. Every case is different and probably his oncologist doesn't deem anything more than the R-Chop.

My thought would be that if he was receiving chemo every three weeks he should start seeing a change about that amount of time. My best days are 4-5 after chemo and 4-5 days before chemo. Best of luck to your husband.
