Members shared a variety of strategies for managing constipation after chemotherapy or as a side effect of medication, with several recommending Senna S (a plant-based supplement) as highly effective, along with senokot and magnesium citrate capsules as other reliable options. Many members emphasized lifestyle approaches that have helped them, including drinking plenty of water and juices, eating fiber-rich foods like Raisin Bran and prunes, incorporating flax seeds and oats into snacks, taking probiotics, using Miralax, and staying active by walking. A recurring theme was the importance of adjusting remedies based on individual needs and consulting with a doctor before starting any new supplement, especially when managing multiple medications or ongoing treatment side effects.

I have found that Senna S is the only thing that has helped me with this. It’s over the counter, inexpensive and it works. Depending on how much medication that is doing this, I take it accordingly. I have other issues that are making me take pain medication. I usually only take one pain pill a day. Percocet! I take two Senna S and it works perfectly. It’s also a plant based supplement and not a medication. I hope I have everything correct. I would speak with your doctor before starting anything.
I hope that this helps hun!

Chiquita,
Hi! I take Colace and drink lots of water. I walk in the house which helps. Plus, I eat Raisin Bran. And, I make these protein balls that have oats and flax seeds in them. Plus, I drink juices. Kelly
