Has Anyone Been On Imbruvica For At Least A Year?
A MyLymphomaTeam Member asked a question đź’

I have been taking Imbruvica for Waldenstroms for a year and my labs have improved but I wonder about side effects since I’ll be on it for the rest of my life (I am 80). I watch my diet and exercise, hoping to get back to feeling “normal” and will be pretty good energy-wise for a couple of weeks and then not feel well for two or three weeks with fatigue, itching, light headedness, low grade late afternoon temps, tired legs and hips, and now I have tinnitus. Compared with what other lymphoma… read more

Thanks Bill. I have the brittle nails and bruising too. So glad to know it’s working for you.

I have been on Imbruvica for over 2-1/2 years and doing fine. My IGM stays at roughly 2500, not normal but stable. I have not had nausea or diarrhea. I do have very brittle nails and much increased bruising.

Thanks John. I hope you'll get a successful treatment for your symptoms. Interesting that we both have the tinnitus which I'm hoping will go away with time.
All best,
June

I was on Imbruvica for a little less than a year for Waldenstrom. I also am male 79 years old.
I was taken off chemo 8 months ago. Go in for lab work in a couple of weeks.
Depending on what the lab works reveal, I may need to return, perhaps at different dosages.
My current symptoms are increased peripheral neuropathy, increased tinnitus, increased IBS stomach pains, lower blood presser at times, light headdress, fatigue, and increased joint pains. Taking pain pills now that lowers the pain but doesn't remove it.
I'm hoping we can find some ways of removing some of the pains.
So no, I'm not on Imbruvica for a long time, but hoping this will help you and others with Waldenstrom.
