Thank you, Kelly.🤗
It never fails to amaze me how wonderfully supportive the members of this.community are.
How are things with you going?
Yes, last summer's bout of septicemia and delirium was a game changer.
Yesterday I asked one of the medical daycare personnel about the prevalence of delirium. I was told that quite a few patients end up suffering with Septicemia and delirium.
I like to share knowledge I've gained so I recommend everyone diagnosed with cancer keep a "medical diary" and research septicemia and delirium.
PS: I'm 69 years of age and enjoying my life, day to day. 🌞

My treatment, R-CHOP, was aggressive, consequently, my white blood cells plummeted. At the same time I developed a UTI which caused septicemia, essentially a bacteria in my blood stream. I lost my ability to walk and had no upper body strength. I spent 2 months in hospital on IV antibiotics. I was delirious, hallucinating and suspicious of people caring for me. These were caregivers I've known since 2016; some who's name i couldn't recall. I'm still recovering my memory and strength.
If you feel the worst ever, have a fever and/or chills, forgetting things, get to your ER by ambulance immediately! In all likelihood you may have have Septicemia, it's a life-threatening illness. Be sure you have someone you trust to be your medical advocate; sepsis is often misdiagnosed. The bacteria in my blood is one usually found in the gut. However, my WBCs were so low it went into my blood and caused havoc. Ask your treating physician about it and educate yourself.
I have a service dog whom I couldn't care for I was so sick. Therefore, she couldn't be with me as she would usually have been.
I wanted to share this story because sometimes, when we least expect it, our health can go sideways, dangerously so.
Having said all that, I wish you all good luck; y'all will be in my prayers.
🤗💖💖💖 (3 hearts are for yesterday, today and tomorrow).

Rhonda4,
Hi! Thank you for asking. I'm doing fine. I had covid at Christmas and my lymphocytes went down to half. So a bit nervous about my upcoming appointment/lab work in March. Hopefully, they have gone back up some. Thank you for sharing your journey and knowledge. I hope you are continuing to heal and feel better. Sending you a hug. Kelly

Rhonda4,
Hi! I'm so sorry you had to endure that with your infection and hospitalization. All while having chemo and fighting DLBCL. I hope your strength has returned and you are feeling better. Kelly
