As a critical care nurse where every was high acuity and they survived life changes would be needed. I can tell you this: many articles can be found everywhere on every subject. Having been there with many patients and then my self it all boiled down to mind set. Once you have conquered that you move on to diet, ( basically) fruits, salads, veggies, fish, chicken( all CERTIFIED organic). No deli meats, red meat, Avacodo, chocolate, alcohol (even no alcohol beers). No sugar, caffeine, dairy or anything fermented or aged. I eat many things on menus, gained weight, never hungry. Eat differently but never get hungry. Portion size small or small medium. Your stomach will shrink down and you will never want a large meal again. You can eat the healthy food 6 times a day. Drink tea hot or cold but black or green only. I know it has small amount caffeine. Now for pleasure coffee if you like. No expresso and lattes non dairy. This is from a powerful research study done in Texas and partnered with WHO. It builds back your immune system to stay healthy. First step change diet. Next step is read Cancer, Stress, Mind set.. then The Way of Qigong by Kenneth Cohen ( both at Amazon). You can practice Qigong by finding people doing it on Google. I used one called Summer, one called Winter. The Shift Network has a course by Daisy Lee that also teaches breathing and sounds. Then one by May Li. She teaches how to perfect the movements as well as giving you more movements. There are free courses on breathing techniques: Basically deep inhale thru nose that lifts your diaphragm to the count of 4 exhale slowly to the count of 8. Google it. It can be found free. It will become how you always breathe in time. Until then 15 breathes 4 times a day. Qigong everyday as you arise. Remove negative people from your life, no exceptions. Exercise of some kind every day. Walking is good as is biking. Doing all these things will stop the rest such as Chronic Stress Syndrome. Walk through the routine no matter how weak you are. You have to wear the diseases out or they will get you. Most will give up, but those who want to LIVE their life will practice religiously . If you do not what was it all for?

Good to hear from you Tinna. That must have been so hard when you were first treated and your husband had that heart attack..for both of you. You really have been through it. I got a second cancer as well, but it hadn’t spread and only needed surgical removal. It was melanoma. Sometimes I feel so overwhelmed I don’t think I could handle a single other medical issue but of course they come and I do get through it.
I’ll be 71 this August, married to an incredible man as well since 1981. I don’t really keep up housework (am glad you can), but my energy does fluctuate lately and I’ve been able to get small things done. My husband also shops and cooks, drives me everywhere (I’m just not alert enough), does pharmacy pick-up and keeps our yard beautiful and full of critters which I get so much joy out of. You can mostly find me on the couch and though that’s hard I’ve found ways to accept it and enjoy myself.
One of my best friends just died and she was a UU as well. Her husband, who died quite a few years ago was a minister there. I am not religious either but do have an interest in the mysteries of life and have studied many different beliefs.

Diane, I've had NHL for 25 Years. I've been treated 4 times for Follicular & once for breast cancer. I have been married 60 years to a wonderful man who is very supportive. He had a quintuple bypass after a heart attack 25 years ago when I was going thru my first treatment. He had another heart attack in 2011, then multiple surgeries for many causes. I will be 80 years old in Sept. I am not very active, but I still handle my housework. My husband shops & cooks. I am not religious and am a Unitarian Universalist. We both worked in NYC which we miss. Keep in touch! Tinna

Thank you for all of the info, it’s great. I do eat a plant based diet and have definitely worked out the mind thing. That is so crucial I believe. I walk daily. I’m familiar with qi gong (I’ve actually hired Ken Cohen to teach at the university I worked at) and breathing exercises as well, but do them only sporadically.
It’s a good reminder/prompt to stay at it. I’ve had lymphoma for 14 years. Thanks again. My best
