Yes--my lymphoma team has provided you the answer. My oncologist told me he would authorize removal of the port during the two year period if I so desired. Obviously if future chemo treatments became necessary it would have to be reinserted. For me, it was that possibility of an extra and unnecessary surgery that made the difference. So I'm keeping mine in during the two year period--9 months to go!
