radiation for follicular lymphoma

I think my follicular Lymphoma has grown. I have been on watch & wait for 6 years. I have a CT scan in 3 weeks. I'm hoping that I can still be on watch & wait, but if not, I am hoping for radiation over chemo. Please pray that I can still be on watch and wait. I would be afraid to have to have chemo. What has been treatments others have had for follicular lymphoma?

There’s different treatment for Follicular Lymphoma . Immunotherapy , Chemo, . It’s depends on your symptoms and what the Oncologist thinks will work best .

Marka I did immunotherapy instead of chemo and worked right thru it for 16 months. I was just tired but I’m always tired!! LOL GOOD LUCK

I’m currently on R squared . Rituximab (infusion) and Lenalidomide (pills). White blood count is low due to the pills . Cycle 5 I’m currently on . Hopefully when I get a petscan that will determine is the treatment was effective or not .

Radiation is not used much anymore. Bi-specific's, Epcoritimab and Mosunatuzemab as mono therapy may be best. They have just become generally available in the US and are a lot less corrosive than the old traditional chemo's. These are cutting-edge treatments.

For early-stage follicular lymphoma, radiation therapy is often highly effective and can lead to long-term remission. It's considered a strong option when treatment becomes necessary, especially for localized disease. Treatments typically involve focused beams aimed at affected areas, scheduled five days a week over several weeks.

If more extensive treatment is needed, many people receive combination therapies that include:

* R-Bendamustine (Rituximab with bendamustine)
* R-CHOP (Rituximab, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisone)
* R-CVP (Rituximab, cyclophosphamide, vincristine, and prednisone)
* Obinutuzumab combined with bendamustine or chlorambucil

Some MyLymphomaTeam members have also received targeted therapies or immunotherapies, which work differently than traditional chemotherapy by targeting specific cancer pathways or boosting your immune system.
