I saw you had several posts so I figured I would share my experience on at least one to help as much as I can. Washing hands and staying clean in very important so you don’t get sick. The playing in dirt is also very bad as there is a high risk for different infections and stuff from micro organisms in the dirt especially fungal infections which are from my understanding pretty tough to get rid of. Lymphoma treatment kills your immune system like down to almost nothing I had to avoid most people made people around me mask up and also stopped having my weekend visits with my daughter during treatment since kids are always carrying germs and her mom and me figured if anyone would get me sick and cause issues it would be her. I did all this after I had a slight stomach flu that I thought I could deal with after 3 days I had to go to the hospital and had to have family push me in a wheel chair since I was so sick I could barely walk and had to spend 5 days inpatient on IV antibiotics to kick that one. I don’t know if his chemo regiment will be easy on his immune system and he will have less issue than I did but getting sick during treatment sucks since you have a harder time recovering even the common cold hits like truck.
Why is hand washing important for children with lymphoma?
Hand washing is crucial for children with lymphoma because their immune systems are often weakened by the disease and its treatments. This makes them more vulnerable to infections that healthy children might easily fight off.
