With being almost 3 years in re-misson I am able do most things i could before. However I have some mild dementia they trying to get to the bottom of. I have another high rez brain MRI scheduled soon. I have nothing that runs in my family. Time will tell. My 6 mth Oncology check ups are going well. I have 3 kids, 4 grandchildren with one on the way and I've been retired 15 years living with my wife 44 years currently in our Lake House in Ontario Canada. I have many things to be greatful for, many things. I try to live life day by day and hoping the lymphoma never returns. But in the back of my mind I wonder.
Well done Lloyd and congratulations on remission.
I never drank alcohol during 2025 whilst having R-Chop.
I am now enjoying 1 x490ml can of beer most nights - at 81 yo I think that doing something I enjoy is worth doing unless there are obvious reasons not too.
This is a good question.
While answers to this are all over the map I think it depends on how much risk you are willing to accept personally. Everybody's response to alcohol is different.
I cannot say it's bad (unless it's extreme), I too used to enjoy a few beers or a good single malt whiskey. While I say this I have also stopped drinking all together 14 months ago. Basically I did not want to take risk. Though I am in remission a healthy life style may give me a few years more. Once I realized this I went cold turkey. Never regretted it.

Feeling good Lloyd- thanks.
Managing 8 weekly Rituximab Targeted Therapy without side effects- bit tired for a day or two afterwards but otherwise ok.
Main issue is the travel- we live in countryside, 2 hour drive to Hospital but need to travel day before ( overnight Hotel) to make sure at Hospital by 6.45am for fasting blood test, Drs appt 9am and therapy finishing 3.30pm followed by drive home.
Next therapy on April 16 and hoping to find service station with diesel for our pick up- in very short supply due to middle- East probl
