Yes, I did. It escalated every time I contracted a respiratory virus…Which has been frequent during to the lower immunity from NHL & Rituximab.
At almost a year post treatment I can happily report the chronic cough has resolved. I believe it is partly because of the efficacy of the Rituximab reducing the size of the lymphomas near my diaphragm & spleen. The inflammation I was experiencing has reduced significantly.
When the cough was bad enough, my pulmonologist recommended Tussinex to help quiet the cough and help me sleep. (I have chronic asthma.)
Good luck & I hope you find relief soon!

This is a really important question to raise. While a chronic cough isn't always listed as a top side effect of this combination, both drugs can affect the lungs and immune system in ways that might contribute to lingering respiratory issues.
Some things worth knowing:
- Bendamustine can cause rare but serious lung-related complications
- Rituximab carries a risk of serious infections, including ones that can affect breathing
- Both drugs can suppress the immune system, making it harder to fight off infections that may cause a cough A persistent cough months after treatment should definitely be discussed with a doctor as soon as possible. It could be related to a lingering infection, lung irritation, or another treatment-related effect that needs proper evaluation.

Please don't wait on this one — getting it checked out sooner rather than later is the safest path forward! 💙
