High Liver Enzymes
A MyLymphomaTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have been in remission since 2017 from NH Lymphoma- Follicular. During recent routine blood work discovered my liver enzymes are high. Oncologist did viral hepatitis panel and only Hep Core B came back reactive. It was reactive 4 years ago prior to treatment of obinutuzumab and bendamustine. I don’t drink, am not overweight. Didn’t know if anyone else had experienced high liver enzymes and could share their diagnosis and experience. I believe next step for me will be imaging the liver, waiting… read more

Appreciate everyone’s response re: their or other’s experience with high liver enzyme functions!
For some reason, along with high liver enzymes, I also have extremely high glucose numbers (hyperglycemia); have been pre-diabetic but A1C has always been within normal range! A review of a PET scan today did not indicate a possible mass in my pancreas as originally thought (previously indicated on a CT scan from last week) and previously (enlarged) lymph nodes were either stable or decreased in size! Go figure!!
A consultative appt. with a gastroenterologist is scheduled for next week and a future appt. with an endocrinologist will be scheduled in the near future!
Still hoping for best outcome possible for this mysterious medical journey I’m on! 🙏

Bbv, I know it is scary when liver is mentioned, I went through the scare waiting on liver doc for weeks then testing. My liver specialist said can be lots things elevate, not necessarily cancer. He recommended staying away from Tylenol, eating lean protein vegetables. Sending prayers your way my friend. Stay in faith. 🙏

Hello, I was diagnosed with NHL Marginal zone B cell. During treatment my liver enzymes would elevate. I was sent to liver specialist and found slight elevation but liver normal, no lymphoma. After treatment, lymphoma clear on scan thankfully, but liver enzymes elevated again snd hemoglobin dropped. It is an autoimmune (anemia) problem that caused liver enzymes to elevate. Taking a rare pill twice a day that helped and now this new disease is the focus. Good luck to you.

My liver enzymes were elevated sometime ago. My pcp asked if I was taking Tylenol? Are time I was, as if they were going out of style🙃. Quit taking & liver enzymes lowered, have never gone up. Supplements & over counter meds sometimes cause this…
Prayers & positive thoughts🙏❤️🌻
