Got a bone density scan to get the "all clear" to proceed with a rotator cuff repair surgery. That was wishful thinking. The scan showed severe osteoporosis. My Drs did not blink - just ordered medication to treat osteoporosis. My dear RN friend questioned why I have this dx at the age of 60. She said that does not seem right - you should ask for further testing. My rheumatologist ordered me to take Calcium and vitamin D supplements twice a day and after almost 2 months finally got… read more
Has anyone felt like they miss their oncology visits and/or infusions? Sounds weird to me, but I find that I do to some extent. Is it the comfort of knowing they’re there for me? Knowing someone is watching over me? A separation anxiety? Don’t get me wrong, I’m thankful that the treatments have done what they’re supposed to do and I don’t have to worry about it getting worse. But how what do I say to my loved ones? How do I explain it? Do I need to find someone to talk to?
Thank you.
Thank you I appreciate that.💗
I went for my yearly oncology appointment for breast cancer I had 21 years ago when my oncologist felt a lump where I had reconstruction surgery. I thought it was scar tissue and she had me do an ultrasound followed by a biopsy where lymphoma was discovered in my axillary lymph node and not the lump she initially felt.
I was going to the ear doctor and he found what I thought was a lipoma on my clavicle but he said lymphoma. I went for a pin biopsy and then a core biopsy to confirm FL.
I have a infusion next week and that is on my list of questions

My understanding is that some people have allergic reactions to the treatment and that it also affects your immune system, but other than that I don’t know much. Thanks in… read more

Cathy, it stands for Marginal Zone Lymphoma.
I don’t know yet. But after my recent investigation it was very fast that they wanted to see me again. With my other cancer (brain tumour) I get to see my oncologist on the same day after the MRI. I… read more
