All scary stuff. My dblc is mainly on my bones. I am asymptomatic. Had I not broke my finger would not of known. Praying for clean scan in January.

I live in Florida but I did my first round of chemo at Wake Forest in NC with Dr. Vaidya….she is great and knows her stuff and is very empathetic. My daughter is a Gyn Oncologist in that area and we stayed with her while I was going for treatments! After that didn’t do the trick, I came back to Florida to Moffitt Cancer center, where I had already established a patient contact with doctors there before I went to NC. More chemo that didn’t take care of all the tumors, so I was offered CarT immunotherapy and had my one year clear scan this past July! I go again in January for another scan, bloodwork, etc. I thank God every day for the expertise of the doctors, prayers and love of my family and friends! I wish the same for everyone on this journey! Not sure if I mentioned but I was originally diagnosed with Diffuse B large cell, stage 4 that transformed to Follicular!

Edward…..yes, I had chemo through my port and then had the lumbar punctures!
My tumors were very near my spinal column and they were afraid of them getting into the spine and thus the reasoning for the punctures! It is not that bad even though I did dread the first one! Hopefully you will have someone that knows exactly what they are doing and does a good job for you! I’m sure you will and best of luck on your journey!
We all know it’s “no walk in the park” but I am happy to say that I was offered CarT immunotherapy after chemo regimens didn’t work for me and had my one year clear scan this past July and due back in January….I’m feeling great and sure it will be another clear one! We all must be positive and win this war!
