Members shared practical remedies for managing the dry, flaking, and itchy scalp that often accompanies chemotherapy-related hair loss, with many expressing deep frustration over how persistent and uncomfortable the condition can be. Several members recommended specific products and home treatments, including CeraVe, Vanicream shampoo and conditioner, baby oil, aquaphor, rosemary mixed with coconut oil, and gentle psoriasis or eczema shampoos, though one member noted needing to wash daily to keep flakes at bay. A recurring theme was the solidarity in dealing with an unexpected and ongoing side effect, with members offering encouragement and gratitude for discovering solutions that bring relief.

Maxine2 and Anna2,
Fortunately I didn't have dry scalp when I lost my hair but the rest of my skin, and still I'd really very dry and flakey. I use CeraVe which you can get OTC at drug stores or grocery stores. It works very well for me. Kelly

Thank you for asking this question! I am having one hell of a time with dry scalp since my hair started to grow back and I never had an issue with dandruff before chemo. I have been trying an all natural shampoo and conditioner pair that is supposed to be for psoriasis and eczema. While both the shampoo and conditioner appear to be nice and gentle and work to clear the flakes out I have to use it every singe day. I cannot just take a shower and skip washing my hair for a day or it gets really flakey again. I am so frustrated by this.
