Thanks for the responses….on the next round, I’ll cut some of the prochlorperazine (nausea) tablets in half to see if it makes me feel less drugged. The good news is that after just one cycle of BR, the lymphatic drainage from the PleurX catheter has gone from 350cc to basically zero! I’m hoping to have the catheter removed soon.

I had bad nausea after the first chemo round but got some Enterade to drink 2x per day during the 2nd 2 day round of chemo and it has helped. I looked at my blood results after the 2nd chemo and saw most everything had gone back to normal except for the red blood count, hemotocrit, and hemoglobulin which indicates anemia. My appetite returned after the 2nd round as I lost 8 lbs after the first round, My third round is coming up and I am hoping for similar results. I have gone back to the tread mill and not at my usual pace but it keeps the blood flowing and it has helped. Good luck!

I have been asking myself much the same question. I don't think the immediate side effects like nausea have worsened and I am better prepared with zyprexa and compazine. But I am thinking that there has been or is a cumulative effect so that I haven't bounced back from my 3rd treatment as well as the first two. More weakness and fatigue. But IDK, it may just be age, getting so tired of the cold weather and my inherent weakness of character.

I had chemo but Dr gave me IV anti nausea meds and benadryl with each treatment
No nausea after treatments but my pain meds did occasionally give me nausea
Had anti nausea meds but it helps to keep hydrated and eat if you can . I also tried protein shakes which also helped with kidney function

I am Curious about what round 2 of BR will be like as well. I am having a port put in before round 2 so that will make the pokes less painful. From the answers above it appears that the side effects will be at least the same but probably be more intense. I guess time will tell soon enough. Thanks for asking the question. Sue K
