Well I almost don't like to admit this but when I was given my prognosis of 3-5 months to live in January 2022 I asked if it was ok to keep having my half bottle of wine a day... Consultant told me I could do whatever I liked really as nothing would make any difference at my stage. Eighteen months on and I'm still having half a bottle of white wine a day and enjoying every drop.

Things have changed rapidly in the lymphoma world. My diagnosis was similar. Stage 4 in 2004. 6 months of r-hyper Chad nearly killed me but put me in remission by April 2005. Remission lasted until 2017…by then my oncologist wasn’t too worried. He was more excited about getting to do research after a long remission. The inguinal node received 10 days of low dose radiation which put me back in remission for 2 more years when the same node reappeared. Third time is charm so I was prescribed 200 mg of Calquence by pill which targets the B cell and have been in remission since.

I found that I just don’t feel very good after drinking. Maybe 1 beer or a glass of wine with a meal. Bummer cause I did enjoy having a few once in awhile! Lol

I have NH DLBCL. I've never been a regular drinker but would have an occasional glass of wine or an alcoholic drink. After being diagnosed, I have stopped all alcohol use. I've also eliminated 95% of use of sugar. There is much research demonstrating the adverse health consequences of both.

I have NH DLBCL but because of my Secondary Multiple Sclerosis, the Dr’s did not feel I was a candidate for R-CHOP. They gave me Rituxan only plus radiation. The radiation was completed 1 month ago and will have a PET scan in 2 months. I have a glass or 2 of wine or champagne or margaritas when ever. I might do this for a week or two or maybe not for a month or two. Don’t know if it’s affected the cancer or not. What ever is meant to be will happen anyway. I’m 79 and have had MS for 50+ years.
