I have had no change for the 15 months since I was diagnosed. I think if I do all I can to be as well as possible it will help my body calm down about overproducing cancerous lymph cells. Discovered 2 other related things I have which are known to aggravate the SLL/CLL. Rhumatoid arthritis and candida. My naturopath said we should start with addressing the candida and making my digestive system as healthy as possible first so am doing that now. I really like the naturopathic oncologists approach better than the Western medicine docs who say there is NOTHING I can do to worsen or improve my chances.
I think with good self care I could go for years without it getting worse and am planning and working toward that. All the best. Lowering stress and practicing staying in the present and not imagining bad scenarios is my goal.
Hi Richarid i am taking Brukinsa just a little over a month now so far I feel really good my BP has been good also I couldn’t take Calquence or Imbruvica because of side effects..if you start Brukinsa please let me know how you are doing..hope your day is great..
Hi Carol, I too am in the watch and wait phase of CLL/SLL. My Oncologist said I could start having B symptoms within weeks, or it could be months or even longer. Because it grows so slowly, we don't even know how long we may have already had it and didn't know. It looks like Brukinsa, which was recently approved to treat CLL/SLL is the new drug of choice because of fewer side effects and better results. That is what my Dr. said I would likely take once symptoms start showing up.
My cll was not diagnosed for several years before it showed in my routine blood work. I felt extreme fatigue for maybe seven years and was explained that it was my type two diabetes when nothing else could be found. I was going to the doctor every six months regarding my diabetes until on test came back with high white blood cell count. My internal doctor referred me to an oncologist who confirmed after doing special blood work that I had CLl.. I was diagnosed with type two diabetes when I was 40 years old and Was not visiting a doctor regularly until after diagnosed. I went on pills and eventually was put on insulin about 10 years after having diabetes. I was at times tired but thought nothing of this condition until about 4 years ago when it showed up in my blood work but I have had extreme fatigue for about 7 years ago. Would go to the doctors but no doctor could pin point my fatigue. I was on wait and see for about two years when suddenly I became pale with my red blood cell count was very low anemia. My oncologist ordered a blood transfusion two separate times and put me on a drug, brukinza. Drug did wonders and now my blood work is . normal until today and it’s been about one year. I still at times feel very fatigue but that what I’m dealing with at times. Brukinza is very expensive but really worked for me. I am 73 years old and show no signs of this disease except fatigue occasionally. My mother died from this disease at 79 years old but at the time of her death they did not have pills to control lukema. Hope this info helps you understand a little bit more regarding CLl. God bless you all. Good luck in what ever your dealing with . Ps I could used better grammar but I hate using AI .
It may never take off.
