The fast growing kinds can be cured, with little chances of relapse. My Pet scan in Jan showed no cancer (after 6 cycles of Rituxan and Bendamustine), so some might say cured, and that followed 14 yrs of remission from slow growing lymphoma in 2008, so that was almost cured. Most of those 14 yrs of remission I felt so good, and had so much energy I knew the C hadn't come back. Those slow growing kinds are just staying hidden until it has a chance to start growing again, maybe in several yrs., or maybe never.. New and better treatments , such as the Cart T, might give complete remission.

Hello,
I've been in remission for 2 years. Alot of Dr's would use the remission term instead of cure term, unless it's been in remission awhile. My Dr cousin said I would say I have cancer that is in remission.
However, everyone handles things differently. Your friends scan shows no evidence of disease. In remission. Thank the Lord

I would suggest that your friend consult his doctor for a professional opinion based on statistics for that particular cancer, but unfortunately there's always the chance of recurrence in most cancers.

Douglas,
I have/had DLBCL and had treatments of RCHOP chemo. I had 6 treatments. After 3 and a CT scan they said it was gone. However, I continued with the treatments. Thank God for RCHOP and prayers 🙏. I've been in remission for 2 yrs. Kelly

It is very possible. I had that good fortune 6 yrs ago. Now we are exploring a recurrence.
