When Did You Loose Your Hair?

A MyLymphomaTeam Member asked a question 💭

Just wondering when people lost their hair? I'm very anxious about it and was wondering if its different for everyone or around the same time.

Thanks

Kristen2,
I had RCHOP and my hair started falling out on day 19 of the 21 day cycle. On the 20th day (after my first chemotherapy) , the day prior to chemotherapy #2 I had my husband Shave my head. I was ready by then as it was coming out in clumps the week leading up to the shaving. Like Kelly, I did two cuts myself prior to starting chemo to prep for the inevitable with my type treatment.
I’m in my 7.5 month of remission and it came back curly and dark. A true mess. Slow growing as well but enough growth to need shaping regularly. I’ll take it but I must say it’s different.
Best wishes.

I agree with KellyS on the loss timing. My hair came back looking like tornadoes swirling all over my head. Best hair do ever!!! The hair changes were the best thing about cancer treatment.

Kristen2,
Hi . I had RCHOP chemo treatments and lost my hair around the 2nd treatment. I had long blonde thick hair. I cut it off to my shoulders myself then when it started coming out my husband shaved my head. I went completely bald. I wore soft hats and tied decorative scarfs in bows around my hat. My hair did come back. About half the thickness. It's an inch or two below my shoulders. I've been in remission for about 2 yrs now. I hope you have a blessed day. Kelly

Hi Kristen
It differs for everyone. For me, it started after 2nd chemo session and thinned slowly, it was not tragic as I expected. I refused to have a hair cut. This is my 3rd month, still have some hair but ı am using bandanas to feel comfortable :)
