Sheila7,
Hi and welcome to the site. Everyone on here is so kind, supportive and helpful. I have/had DLBCL. I had treatments of RCHOP chemo and have been in remission for 2 1/2years. I hope your friend is doing well and finds the answers she seeks. Kelly

Had RChop still in remission. She needs to make sure she is in a major cancer center. Research the therapy's. How many patients have they treated? Outcome percentages? Second opinions always needed. No quick fix.

I was diagnosed with T-Cell and have been through a lot. 6 rounds of chemo put me in remission and a few months of being in remission, I went through a stem cell transplant with 11 more rounds of chemo. It was a very hard road with complications but I am here, a year in remission. I pray that continues. If I can answer questions for anyone please let me know. Stay strong!

I was diagnosed with PTCL (Peripheral T-cell Lymphoma) in October and started chemo last month. I am receiving the (US) “standard of care” frontline Chemo treatment that includes two standard chemo drugs (Doxorubicin and Cyclophosphamide) plus Adcetris (aka Brentuximab Vedotin), which is an immune drug that targets cancer cells with specific protein markers common to this sub-group of lymphomas. If your friend is in the UK, I think this is still the treatment that the NHS would follow as 1st option. My lymphoma was advanced enough at diagnosis that I didn’t want to spend time exploring alternative options. But depending on results with this, there may/will be other things to explore. Are there other centers that she can be referred to within the NHS where they have more specialized cancer care? I would say that my chemo side effects have not been bad (I was expecting to lose my hair and some other things) and I feel that there are indications that the chemo is working to knock back the lymphoma. So if your friend is worried about the chemo and wanting to avoid it in favor of something else, I would encourage her to reconsider.

Thank you. She can’t keep food down and is being dreadfully sick and I don’t know what to do to help. All the tests have been done in the local hospital and they’re not giving any real hope.
