Thank you for this! Same location for me, the mesentery (as well as one axillary under arm node -- and spleen.) I had never heard of the mesentery before this diagnosis. Right now I am leaning toward doing Rituximab outside the clinical trial -- given only 50% chance of getting Mosunetuzumab and lots more hoops to go through in a trial. I also MAY not be eligible for the clinical trial given I also have thyroid cancer. Again, I really appreciate your input. Hope all is well with you!
Thank you so much for this info! Holding good thoughts for you!
Hi Annie - I just realized I had missed a very kind message from you early in February and responded a short while ago.
If it help in any way, a close friend of mine who is now 59, had her thyroid gland removed 30 years ago. Over time, the medication she takes every day has improved. She has never suffered from depression and her skin is beautiful. Perhaps you read about worst scenarios.
It makes sense to take care of the thyroid first. I am interested to hear what MSK has to say about the thyroid. You'll want to be sure to find an excellent physician to monitor your medication for the absence of a thyroid gland.
I will keep you in my prayers, especially for your March 11 procedure and recovery thereafter. Keep finding the beautiful blessings in every day and allowing those blessings to help you overcome the challenges you are facing!
Yes -- docs are recommending removal of whole thyroid -- and MSK doc wants thyroid handled before we start treating lymphoma. But I am really upset about the symptoms I am hearing come after thyroid removal regardless of medication, such as weight gain, difficulty losing weight, dry skin and depression. And I am not getting enough concrete data from docs about realities regarding thyroid removal after effects. I am actually trying to get a second opinion on this too from MSK. But thyroid surgery is scheduled for March 11th. Two cancer diagnoses out of the blue is a lot to deal with -- so I really appreciate what you have been sharing!
Is there a separate plan to treat the thyroid?
