Yes, I have had an occurrence of squamous cell carcinoma since treatment for follicular lymphoma. Fortunately I see a dermatologist regularly anyway. When she heard I had been diagnosed with lymphoma I went from annual visits to semi-annual visits. Apparently, lymphoma makes you more vulnerable to everything. I, like you, don't know why they don't make this clear. I've also had surgery for lung cancer, about which I was informed that the lymphoma put me at the same risk as a smoker, which I'm not. I'm still shocked about that one.

My skin in general has been a mess since diagnosis and Rituxin and I did attribute it to my mzNHL but was never told of possible skin cancer risks. Why are oncs not informing us? Truthfully tho, the dermatologist never mentioned it might be connected either. As patients we need to know all possible occurances, IMHO. Do others feel th same?

Sarah, That’s one of the reasons I put this question out. To alert people to keep an eye out for anything suspicious because having lymphoma makes you more susceptible to skin cancers according to my dermatologist. Be sure to have it checked out.

I have had Basel cell carcinoma but had no idea it was possibly connected to my Non Hodgkins. First dermatologist said it was eczema but she moved away. Second dermatologists looked at it, excised it, then sent me to dermatology surgeon. All was removed. Time for a check up again. Why didn't they tell me it could have been associated my mz non hodgkins?

I really need to see a dermatologist then, I have a few strange areas of concern and my oncologist didn't tell me I should see a dermatologist at all.
