I will jump in here because I am scheduling Car T at the end of August. Even though the medication is working the oncologist suggests I am currently a good candidate now instead of waiting until the medication stops working. I am 76 and in decent shape but I am concerned about side effects. My prayers are with you all
Thank you as I am concerned about the hospital stay and side effects
I underwent a CAR-T donor Phase 1 trial last year.
I didn't have too many side effects.
Rashes on lower back and wrists - the rash on my lower back was large and looked like someone had smacked me with a yard stick!
My liver played up just a little bit, so I was given Ambisone infusions a few times.
Otherwise, just the usual aches and pains that go with any of our treatments.
Unfortunately for me I only had a 2 month remission (and I would say that's questionable given how quickly the lymphoma spread in that time).
Now waiting on a transplant, but this has been pushed back a month as I've come down with influenza a!
Hi Bill my Brusinsa and Rituxin failed after two years. Hope you get better results My prayers are with you.
Bruce I also have MCL am 77 years old . I had discussions about CAR T with the doctor and all of the side effects. I chose not to get it and am sticking with Brukinsa and Rituxan regiment. I have a scan scheduled for July 9th and the results will help make me rethink my decision .
