Fatigue is indeed a common symptom of follicular lymphoma, even before treatment begins. Cancer-related fatigue can be intense and may affect your quality of life, making previously simple tasks more challenging. This type of fatigue is different from regular tiredness and can occur regardless of your fitness level. While being generally fit and healthy is beneficial for managing follicular lymphoma, it's important to discuss any new symptoms with your healthcare team. They can help determine if your fatigue and leg pains are related to lymphoma or have other causes. Since follicular lymphoma is often discovered during routine tests before symptoms appear, tracking any changes in your body is valuable information for your medical team. To help manage fatigue, consider:
- Getting short bursts of physical activity
- Being open with family and friends about your energy levels
- Asking your healthcare team about local resources for support
- Planning rest periods throughout your day
Remember that it's okay to have days when you have less energy than others.
