A low white blood cell count (leukopenia) can make it harder for your body to fight infections. When WBC counts are low, particularly neutrophils, you may not show typical infection symptoms since these cells are responsible for fighting infection. This can result in:
• Infections that last longer and are harder to treat
• Increased risk of fever
• Difficulty fighting viral infections due to low lymphocyte counts
If you develop a fever while having low WBC counts, seek immediate medical attention as this could indicate a serious condition. Common symptoms that may occur with low white blood cell counts include:
• Chills
• Sweating
• Fever above 100.4°F
It's recommended to work closely with your healthcare team to monitor your blood counts and manage any symptoms that develop. They can help determine the underlying cause and appropriate treatment approach.

I’m not on any medication thank God! All healthy otherwise! But after clear MRI and Oncologist suggesting I see a Rhumotologist based on high ferritin at 1000, nothing was found. Now having phlebotomy to lower iron, my white blood count dropping which I’m told shouldn’t do. A bone marrow biopsy has been scheduled…praying for the best😊Feel great! Hope you are well.🙏
Thank you for your reply.
