Can lymphoma cause lower back pain?

Yes, lymphoma can cause lower back pain. This happens when swollen lymph nodes in the abdomen or an enlarged spleen or liver press on nearby tissues and nerves, leading to discomfort in your back.

Additionally, if lymphoma spreads to the bones (bone metastasis), the spine is one of the most common sites affected. This can cause bone pain that may feel worse at night or become more constant over time.

Many MyLymphomaTeam members report experiencing back pain as a symptom. One member shared, "I'm having a lot of bone pain today. My legs are the worst this morning, and, of course, my back pain."

It's important to let your healthcare team know about any back pain you're experiencing so they can determine the cause and help you manage it effectively.
