I would be interested in this as well. I occasionally used round up, but lived beside of large agricultural fields which were sprayed at least 2-3 times per year

I developed NHL before Round Up came out. Growing up my family did have large vegetable gardens that we used many chemicals on.

I am part of a class action suit against Monsanto for causing my NHL. My lawyer wants me to opt out of the class and sue individually- does anyone have experience with this class action suit?

I am surprised Round Up is still being sold, considering the cancer risk.

What is the Monsanto Roundup settlement about?

Bayer AG (which bought Monsanto) has faced numerous lawsuits from people who developed non-Hodgkin lymphoma after using Roundup weed killer. The company was found liable for not warning users that Roundup might increase cancer risk.

In 2020, Bayer agreed to pay more than $10 billion to resolve current and future cases related to Roundup exposure. This came after several major jury awards, including:

- $289 million to a school groundskeeper (later reduced on appeal)
- $80 million to a homeowner who used Roundup in his yard
- $2 billion to a couple who used Roundup for over 30 years (also reduced on appeal)

The lawsuits center on glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup. The World Health Organization classified it as "probably carcinogenic to humans" in 2015, and research found a 41% increased risk of non-Hodgkin lymphoma in people with high occupational exposure.

People most affected were agricultural workers and landscapers who had frequent, heavy exposure to the herbicide as part of their job duties.
