It sounds like you're noticing a gap between what others share about their support systems and your own experience. You're not alone in feeling this way.

Many people with lymphoma find that while they have friends, the support doesn't always match what they need or what they see others receiving. Some friends may pull away because they feel uncomfortable or don't know how to help. Others might offer support that feels overwhelming or doesn't quite fit what you're looking for.

A MyLymphomaTeam member shared: "It is very sad to me when people have lost 'friends' after developing cancer. Those of us who have supportive friends and family are very fortunate."

The reality is that everyone's support network looks different, and it's completely valid to feel disappointed or isolated even when you do have people around you. Sometimes friends need guidance on how to help, or you might find that connecting with others who truly understand lymphoma fills a gap that even well-meaning friends can't.

Your feelings about this are important and worth acknowledging.
