That's a really common concern, and you're definitely not alone in feeling that way! Acyclovir is often prescribed alongside R-CHOP as a preventive antiviral medication, since R-CHOP can lower your immune defenses significantly.

Many MyLymphomaTeam members have shared similar experiences, feeling like the supportive medications added on top of R-CHOP sometimes made them feel worse overall — which can feel frustrating when you're already dealing with chemo side effects.

R-CHOP itself can cause a range of tough side effects, including:

- Low blood cell counts (leading to fatigue, infection risk, or easy bruising)
- Digestive issues like nausea, constipation, or diarrhea
- Hair loss
- Numbness or tingling in limbs
- Swollen limbs

When acyclovir is added into the mix, it can sometimes contribute to feelings of nausea, fatigue, or general unwellness — making it hard to know what's causing what.

The most important thing is to let your care team know exactly how you're feeling. They may be able to adjust your dosage or suggest ways to manage the side effects better. You shouldn't have to just push through it silently!
