Completing radiation is a huge milestone — and it's completely understandable why people around you might think everything is "back to normal." But finishing treatment doesn't automatically mean the cancer is gone. Here's what life after radiation can actually look like:
- Follow-up care continues — Regular check-ups, blood tests, and imaging are typically needed after treatment to monitor for any signs of the lymphoma returning
- Side effects may linger — Some effects of radiation can persist or even appear months or years later
- Emotional challenges are real — Anxiety and fear of recurrence are very common, even when treatment is done
- "Normal" takes time — Getting back to work, family life, and daily routines can be harder than expected
