Had a front tooth loosen during chemo/radiation to the point where a bridge was necessary. Works fine and looks better than the original tooth!

I would NEVER do implants again. Takes way too long to be without teeth and the insertable temporary bridge is no fun.

Hi!! I had tooth issues after my rchop treatments. I had root issues on my upper teeth. I had a choice of implants or bridge too. I chose bridge. I didn’t want to have a surgery when my immune system wasn’t a 100%. Plus, my dentist said the bone of my jaw might still not be strong enough to hold the implant because of the root issues. Plus, healing etc. Im glad I went with the bridge. Maybe I’d do the implant now I’m 5 1/2yrs out. Good luck and I totally understand! Kelly

Hi!! After my treatments of rchop chemo I had three teeth that had root issues. One close to the front needed pulled and the other two I had to go to a specialist. I had a beautiful bridge that they had to remove before doing the work. I had the same choice but I didn’t want to have surgery right after treatments. Plus, my one specialist said he didn’t think an implant would hold because of my treatment and bones because of DLBCL. I got another bridge. But, I’m 5 yrs out now and would consider an implant if I needed one. But I’m glad I went with the bridge right after treatment. I also didn’t want anymore trauma to my body. Yes I'm having dental work as well done. Unfortunately because of the volume of chemo over the years it caught up with my teeth. I was down to only 4 serviceable teeth this year so I'm going through the process of getting dentures. I've had everything pulled already just waiting on the jawline to tightenup before the fitting. The radiation treatments also effected my timeline with this. But as I've been told it is normal to have teeth issues after chemo .More chemo more issues.
