Managing fatigue and infection risk with Waldenström's macroglobulinemia (WM) is such an important topic. While no supplement has been proven to definitively treat lymphoma symptoms, some are being studied for fatigue relief. Always check with your doctor before starting anything new — some supplements can interfere with your treatments.

Supplements being researched for cancer-related fatigue include:

- Ginseng
- Coenzyme Q10
- L-carnitine For immune support, foods rich in vitamins A, C, D, and E, plus zinc, may help. Think broccoli, berries, garlic, ginger, turmeric, and spinach. These can be great additions to your diet.

A few important cautions:

- Supplements don't need to be proven effective before being marketed
- "Natural" doesn't always mean safe
- Some supplements can interfere with lymphoma treatments (e.g., green tea supplements can reduce the effectiveness of bortezomib, used for mantle cell lymphoma)
- High doses can increase side effect risks

Working with a registered dietitian who understands your WM can help you find a safe, personalized plan.
