I have been taking Imbruvica for Waldenstroms for a year and my labs have improved but I wonder about side effects since I’ll be on it for the rest of my life (I am 80). My friend is recently diagnosed with CLL (as am I although I’m still on Watch and Wait). His dr is recommending treatments for him and he’s trying to decide these two treatment plans. Any advise about them would be appreciated.

I need to take Imbruvica (140mg) for the rest of my life for Waldenstroms Lymphoma and AbbVie has given it to me for free for two years but has rejected my renewal application. My drug insurance plan, WellCare, quoted me $4,800/month copay. I can't afford $50,000 a year. Imbruvica is one of the ten drugs Medicare will cover. The number of plans they offer is overwhelming. I am in remission from DLBCL. I was treated with Rituxin infusion every 21 days for 6 cycles. Also I took imbruvica and Revlimid orally. I am 88 y/o . Anyone else have similar TX?
