Beginner's Mind - Not Knowing It All When Living With Lymphoma

Posted on April 9, 2019

"The complexities of this disease make me want to read everyone's comments as I learn more and more. The truth is I know enough not to realize how very little I know."
- Member of MyLymphomaTeam

Living with cancer can be difficult and even a burden, but also an opportunity to rid yourself of what you think you know. Have you heard the saying, "People don't get it until they get it"?
That is so true about lymphoma.

"The more I learn about lymphoma, the more I realize that it's not my fault."
-Member of MyLymphomaTeam

A lymphoma diagnosis forces us to drop our negative assumptions about life with cancer. Members on MyLymphomaTeam gain perspective from other members' experiences to become better informed about what it's really like to live with lymphoma.

Here are recent conversations from members of MyLymphomaTeam:

"I had my chemo teach appointment today. And my first treatment is tomorrow. It just got real for me."

"My husband has a lot of anxiety about receiving chemo, can anyone share their story please?"

"I've never had treatment. Any of you want to share a little bit about it?"

What negative assumptions have you let go of about lymphoma? Tell us about it in the comments below or directly on MyLymphomaTeam.com.
