So being a cancer patient and being on or going through a lot of medication, i was wondering if having a medical alert id was something to do. I have seen little ads at my cancer center for them, but I'm not sure what would be considered a requirement. I tried to see a list of those who should, but the answer is never clear.
I keep an updated list of medications in my purse at all times. When I have to see a new Dr. I have them make a copy. I have found out that it is much appreciated. I keep it on my iPad under notes and revise anytime their is a change. I put my medication under the medical reason, for example, Hypertension, and then list the medications I take.
Thanks for the hugs! Knowing your medications and what they are for is very important. Due to fact that I have GERDS many medications upset my stomach but I am not allergic to the medication. I try to clarify that on my list.
I agree. My doctors always like that I have the paper list. I just think it’s a good idea to have it on my phone too as a backup.
Kathy2, due to severe seasonal allergies I have two pills I take daily in addition to 2 inhalers and two nasal sprays. If I don’t keep my self dry I soon develop a chest cold or bronchitis. I have learned this over the year’s. So how can we possibly remember all these meds, thus the list. Doctors, and their office staff greatly appreciate a typed out list.
Grey, I also keep a list in my purse but will be putting it into my phone which is always on me. Thank you for that suggestion from everyone.
