Members shared diverse ways they stay mentally engaged while navigating cancer, with physical activity emerging as a popular choice, including cycling, running, gardening, and daily walks in the sunshine. Several members described creative and purposeful outlets like quilting, writing movie scripts with cancer themes, managing investments, watching British murder mysteries, and selling handmade items on Etsy. A recurring theme was the power of faith, gratitude, staying busy, and focusing on what can be controlled, with many emphasizing the importance of helping others, maintaining a positive mindset, and taking life one day at a time.

I go out and run 3 to 4 miles, pray frequently, sing positive songs, and write movie scripts, many with cancer themes in them.

Mostly hobbies. Frankly since my remission just over 2 years ago, I leave things like that in God's hands. I'll do what the doctor says on my 4-month visits, but God controls my destiny. I'll do my going to our town's collegiate developmental games and play fantasy football in the fall and winter. I thank God every single day with what he has blessed me with.
