My husband had Zarxio injection instead of Neulasta.
Neupogen comes in different brand names. Same meds, just different brand names.
He took a Generic Claritin 10mg. before each injection to help with any possible side effect of bone pain. He forgot to take claritin a few times and did not experience bone pain. He stuck to taking it anyway not wanting to find out otherwise. It is only claritin anyway.
Depending on the drug prescription plan coverage, there is usually a huge co- pay because it is a Tier 5 drug. There may be financial assistance available - your cancer center/ social worker might be able to help you navigate this. Our Cancer Center staff certainly did and what an eye- opener !!!!
Not only was the annual income limit very generous, assets like homes/ bank accounts/ 401K or other financial properties were NOT counted in - they did not even asked for it in the application form.
I wanted to post the screenshots of Navortis Patient Assistance page on Zarxio here, but it won’t let me. You can google it.
Other brands might have similar assistance, too. Or if qualifies under Zarxio, ask prescription to be changed.
