I was pretty debilitated afterwards. I was told to take Pepcid for my GERD and I was given IV hydration on 1/31 and felt much better. I was given hydration again on 2/2 and didn't feel well. Two days later I started breathing very hard. Today, 8 days later I am still having problem with my breathing. We did a chest X-ray and my blood and everything looks good. HAS ANYONE EXPERIENCED ANDY BREATHING PROBLEM WITH THIS TREATMENT. I am so upset that I am ready to give up on the treatments… read more

Members shared their experiences with breathing difficulties after Bendamustine and Rituximab treatment, with several confirming that shortness of breath can occur and often improves over time, though some noted it may persist even into remission. Several members offered practical strategies including asking oncologists to reduce dosage when side effects become severe, using breathing exercises like the 4-7-8 technique, trying incentive spirometers from the hospital, and seeking evaluations from pulmonologists or cardiologists to rule out other causes. A recurring theme was the importance of advocating for yourself with your medical team, giving yourself permission to rest and adjust expectations about recovery, and weighing the difficult side effects against the potential benefits of completing treatment.

I too have had reactions but they lowered the dose…each month slow increase. 5thtrestment at 70%.. these chemo treatments have side effects some more serious than others. But the science behind it show good results for eradicating cancer. I may be in remission, no signs of lymph node enlargements but I’m choosing to finish the last treatment…all the best

HI yes I finished rituximab txtmt only but I am in remission and still have shortness of breath. My oncologist team says that is just normal--I finally accepted my health well never be what it was before (I was diagnosed with nonhodkins lymphoma stage 4) it frightens me at times but then I rest for a while and it gets better. I soooo understand but once Igave myself permission to be where am and it helped.
