My 12 yo son has an abnormal lymph node in a complicated part of the neck, below the ear.
Dr said we can take a nearby node and it'll be the same info as the one we're concerned about. The reasoning is that the one were concerned about has more risk of nerve damage, etc due to its location.
I'm concerned it's not going to tell us the same thing as the concerning node.

Kelsey2,
Hi! I would get a second opinion. I would want a biopsy on the abnormal node. Kelly

Is the doctor a surgeon? A surgeons opinion after looking at the CT scan would be the way to go.
