Had a redo on Dose 1 with a lot of premedicine medications before infusion started, then done VERY slowly.. and had NO side effect reactions the whole way through.. was 8-1/2 hrs. but got same dose as others through rituximab doses.. so went super well and now will do 2nd dose this friday, 2/21.. Amazed how caring and concerned treatment team was to find another way to treat me that worked.. <3
I just had my first immunotherapy treatment yesterday. LONG day.. ended up having a lot of reactions to Rituxinab and then had lots of side effects to the medications they kept giving me to stop the reactions. Was loopy when I left, but woke up this morning with energy (WEIRD, haven't had that for last several years) and also was surprised to find that 2 of my more large lymph nodes that bother me had already shrunk. AND, they decided to quit the infusion after only maybe 1/4 to 1/3 was administered as thought it would be worse to keep giving me side effect meds to get through it. So trying new approach next week with premedications first, rather than waiting for responses. I was just grateful after getting through yesterday to feel so well today..
I am currently doing immunotherapy. Been on it for several years now. Short version: I do well with it. Feel good most of the time. Tried going without it for a couple of months and got sick three times in those two months. Started getting my monthly treatment again and stopped getting sick. 😁
