I didn’t really have any problems I took that nausea medicine religiously. I avoided spicy foods and citrus.. I ate a lot of protein. I ate small meals. I would say the most important thing is to be hydrated. On the days that I had treatment, I didn’t really eat anything prior to. I ate after I had no idea how I was going to react to all of it. That’s how I started. I never changed it. One of my favorite things to eat after treatment was Chick-fil-A’s macaroni and cheese it was very soothing for my stomach.. during treatment I noticed there were quite a few people that would eat throughout their treatment - peanut butter sandwiches were a favorite with several of them.
I will share with you that most of the things that I ate during my treatment I can’t stomach now. Prior to chemo I really loved spicy food. I can’t tolerate spicy food anymore. I’ve always been very healthy ate healthy. Ive actually did a lot of research to bake sugar-free and I have totally adopted that into my new normal.

AmaleneCreggy,
Hi and welcome to the site. Everyone on here is so nice, helpful and supportive. I too have/had DLBCL stage IV and had treatments of RCHOP chemo. I've been in remission for 4 years. When I had treatments I made sure I stayed hydrated. Even during the chemo I would drink lots of water. When I was nauseated I ate a bagel with peanut butter for the protein. Also I had milkshakes with fruit, ice cream and kale. I also made sure that I took my antinausea medication on time and never skipped. I hope your treatments go well. If there is anything I can answer for you please let me know. Kelly

I never had vomiting but some nausea. I started hating all foods for about 4 months so if it sounded good, I are it. Fruits, veggies, especially chicken soups. I kept losing weight but tried very hard to eat protein based foods. And I ate smaller amounts but more frequently. I had NHL, DLBCL also located in my spleen only so healed from my splenectomy a month before R-CHOP ending August 1, 2024. I've just started to get my appetite back. But still hating a lot of former foods.

Protein is important. As long as you don't have any medical reason to limit it. Lots of water. Exercise if you can.
