I lost all my hair on RCHOP. Research says hair will grow back 3-6 months after last chemo treatment.

Hi, Christine...I didn't have hair loss in relation to my lymphoma treatments, but did lose it when I had breast cancer 18 years ago. When it first started coming out I called a friend who was a beautician and asked if she would give me a buzz cut. I just didn't want to deal with the overall stress of dealing with the trauma and mess of it coming out slowly so I just took a deep breath and made the jump. I am really glad I did, but that is just me. If you choose to have the "buzz cut" don't take it to the scalp...make it like a very close butch hair cut. If it is taken to the scalp, sometimes the hair follicles can get inflamed and irritated. I had a few friends who even told me "you have a nice looking head!" Go figure!😄 Even though I am glad I did it, I did struggle with it for a little while...it is only natural...it is another loss. However, we still can look pretty good too with a bald head and more. To help with that I found a great website called Headcovers Unlimited. They have everything! It was started by a mother/daughter team...the mom had breast cancer. It is a beautiful site and their story is also beautiful. Also, if you get an itchy/irritated scalp I used another product on my lymphoma journey called Dermavitality. Their products are all natural. Very soothing and it helped a lot. I just purchased the scalp cream. That should just about do it! Hang in there. You will do well. All the best and have a great day. Bev

Hi--can only supply my experience with RCHOP chemo combating DLBCL. Hair started to fall out a few weeks after the first infusion and progressed quite quickly thereafter. Hair did come out in clumps, and I was mostly bald within 3 months of starting the chemo--photo attached--. Hair started to return as soon as last chemo infusion was completed--came back nicely, different texture and color! I like the hair.
