My anc number is very low and it’s gonna hit 0 soon I’m afraid . I’m on rutixine maintenance every 8 wks. Is there any way to get it higher ? My dr gave me a booster shot while I was on R+B chemotherapy . It goes up way high for a few days and goes down again . So now I’m on R only and he won’t give me any booster . Any advice ? Has anyone in similar situation ? Thanks

Hi Sarah, I will tell you a true story and you decide, ok. My first round with follicular lymphoma my blood work was very low like yours. I went into remission for 2&1 half years. Always testing, looking for reason why my lymphocytes, neutrphils, and basofhlis would not go up and stay there. Never found a reason. Then it rebounded fl and I have been good to go. Still alitt off but all my labs are holding up this time. Why, I can o only say that I have been drinking water with 50% ELTROLYTES . That is is the only difference from the first time. So try it, what's to loose? Or gain ? I am sending hugs, prayers and God's blessings. Christine Pofok ìn Connecticut.

Hi Sara! Did you ask your doctor WHY you can't have another booster for your extremely low ANC? Perhaps another won't help, or perhaps because the first one did not, then subsequent ones are not expected to help?? If you do not receive a valid answer as to why, perhaps temporarily adjusting the Rituxan to less frequent will help?? If you don't get answers with which you feel comfortable, I HIGHLY suggest getting another (or 2 more) opinions from other oncology groups. Ask friends and family for suggestions on excellent teams in your area. Be ready to send reports electronically to the groups from which you are seeking other opinions to save time and to get quick answers. Wishing you the VERY best that your ANC begins to climb very soon!!

You need total trust in your doctor. I got 3 opinions when I had my stem cell transplant.
Sending you strength and hope🌺
