What drinks can help when plain water is difficult to swallow?

Swallowing difficulties can be frustrating, especially when staying hydrated is so important during lymphoma treatment. Many MyLymphomaTeam members have found creative alternatives to plain water.

Here are some options members have tried:

* Electrolyte-enhanced water with added flavor (like raspberry-flavored electrolyte powder)
* Low-sugar sports drinks like Gatorade G2, Propel flavored electrolyte water, or Vitaminwater Zero Sugar
* V8 juice (Pomegranate Blueberry is one member's favorite)
* Ginger tea or buttermilk
* Water with fresh fruit or fruit extract added
* Clear liquids like apple juice or ginger ale
* Cool (not cold) citrus-flavored fizzy drinks

One member shared: "Simple Truth water from Kroger has all the electrolytes you need. I carry a bottle around all the time."

Another found that adding raspberry-flavored electrolyte powder to water helped them stay hydrated without difficulty.

It's important to talk with your healthcare team about swallowing difficulties, as they can evaluate whether there's an underlying cause and suggest safe options for your specific situation.
