Think about it. And just to give you an example I'll share mine. Years ago, about 23 or so years ago, before I got sick with cancer I used to go to Basin Park in Eureka Springs Arkansas, which is a small but bustling tourist town, and read Tarot for folks. I got to mingle with people, and I like people, and read Tarot, which thing I truly enjoy. As an aside I've been studying and reading Tarot for coming up on 51 years. Well, this spring, in March or April depending on the weather, I'm going… read more

I am focusing on being mindful of the people in my life and finding at least one thing each day that I can do to show kindness, whether to someone close to me or to a stranger in the parking lot. Also, once a week I send an email to friends and family and all week I mentally mark moments I want to share with them. If I am looking for the positives I can’t so much dwell on the negatives. My wish for the New Year is that I can continue doing these things no matter how treatment makes me feel. I don’t want to lose that part of what helps to make my life purposeful.
I want to get back to my local park just for some fresh air and exercise. First I need to figure out all these neurological issues I am having so I can be safe while walking. But that's my goal. :D you have the best and most fun questions.
Ajaya, your questions are fun and thought provoking. I used to run a lot of races in my 30's and early 40's, and a race, particularly a marathon, was a personal test of resilience and grit. Of course, the lymphoma decided to make itself comfortable in my femur, but the old leg (companion of 66 years) has managed to rebuild it's bone marrow. I participated in a race in mid-December with my husband and son with the goal of not walking. Okay, they were 16 minute miles instead of 6 1/2 minute miles, which in the BC days (before cancer) would have been a disappointment, but I crossed the finish line with a wonderful sense of accomplishment.
My wish is to get over a second virus of the winter and feel the joy of running in a group of like-minded people again: children learning the feeling of pain, mid-life crisis people seeking to improve, athletes striving for a goal, people handicapped by mental or physical adversities just seeking. I want to wear my lymphoma survivor's t-shirt not as a victim but as a source of inspiration to others and feel each of their personal accomplishments by association.
I hope anyone reading this makes a wish that doesn't tie them too closely to their cancer, as, though it's a part of us, we don't need to let the disease define us. Peace, love and understanding to you all in 2026.
live life to the fullest and do what ever you like to do. Because no one can predict the future and when you time comes it will come. So why not enjoy life and do what ever you like.
