Are you experiencing weakness and heart-related symptoms after radiation therapy for lymphoma?

What you're feeling is worth taking seriously. Fatigue and weakness are known side effects of radiation therapy. However, heart-related symptoms are not something to wait on — please contact your care team as soon as possible, or go to the ER if symptoms feel urgent. Radiation therapy for lymphoma, especially when directed at the chest area, can sometimes affect the heart. This is one of the potential long-term side effects that doctors monitor for.

Some symptoms to describe clearly to your doctor include:

- Where exactly you feel the weakness (legs, whole body, etc.)
- What the "heart feeling" is like — fluttering, pounding, pain, pressure?
- When it started and how often it happens
- Whether it gets worse with activity or rest

Don't downplay these symptoms when you call. Your care team needs to know exactly what you're experiencing so they can help figure out what's going on. You deserve answers — and fast ones at that! 💙
